History
In 1951, residents of West Seneca volunteered to join the Erie County Defense Auxiliary Police to help protect the people of our town. Years later when the Civil Defense disbanded, many individuals wanted to retain an organization that would continue protecting our town and its residents. The group was formed as the West Seneca
Auxiliary Police.
Duties
The West Seneca Auxiliary Police is an unpaid, unarmed reserve police force which is a subdivision of the West Seneca Police Department. Auxiliary Police Officers volunteer their time to help our community by providing assistance with traffic, crowd control, and general patrol of events sponsored by the
town and its many churches and civil organizations.
