TOWN TO BEGIN YARD WASTE PICKUP

WEST SENECA, NY – The Town of West Seneca has announced that yard waste trucks will begin their weekly routes starting on Monday, May 7. Yard waste is collected for the community composting site at 500 Mineral Springs Road every week during the period starting

May 7 through the first week of December.

Residents should arrange to have their yard waste at the curbside the night before or before 7:00 am on their regularly scheduled garbage pickup day. Yard waste must be contained properly for pickup, including:  Paper lawn and leaf bags: Available for purchase at most hardware and grocery stores and at the Highway Department, where residents can purchase 5 bags for $3.00. Plastic bags are not permitted, and will not be picked up by the town.  Open reusable containers: Examples of this include old garbage cans without a lid, bushel baskets, or plastic containers. Containers should not weigh more than 50 pounds and should not contain rocks, metal or household garbage.. For quicker service, residents may bring their yard waste directly to the compost site at 500 Mineral Springs Road Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm.
