ATTENTION: WORLD WAR II VETERANS
The Florida State University History Department has been creating an archive of precious personal memories from World War II.
While there are whole libraries dedicated to the history of battles and generals of the war, little has been done to preserve the traditions of the average GI or to relate their war experiences.
As the years go by, the veterans' letters, diaries, photos, and other memories are being lost or destroyed.
To protect the legacy of the WWII veterans, Florida State University, with the cooperation of veterans and their families, has built a world-class depository which will serve the public and researchers. The archives will be devoted exclusively to WWII veterans and their experiences, and guarantees permanent preservation of these precious memorabilia.
If you would like to donate your letters, diaries, photos, and anything else that reflects the hopes, dreams, fears, attitudes, and goals of yourself and the the friends you served with, please contact FSU to make arrangements.
