    1.     Town Engineer re Town Hall Rear Stairs Replacement Project, change order #1

Motion by Councilman Hicks, seconded by Councilman Graber, to approve change order #1 for UCC Constructors, Inc., 105 Center Road, West Seneca, NY 14224, in the amount of $8275 for replacing the reinforced concrete sidewalls and including a concrete additive on the Town Hall Rear Stairs Replacement Project, Job No. T-0407, noting that these revisions were reviewed and recommended by the architect, Wayne Folts, of FFAEB Architects.

On the question, Councilman Hicks asked when the work would be done.

Town Engineer George Montz advised that the work would be started within two to three weeks.

Councilman Bove questioned if this work was not included in the original bid.

Mr. Montz responded that they originally thought the sidewalls would not have to be replaced, but they found a number of cracks in them and decided that it would be better to replace them. The contractor would be installing weep holes for drainage at the bottom of the new walls so any water that got underneath them could escape.

Councilman Bove questioned if they should rebid the project with the inclusion of the sidewalls.

Mr. Montz did not believe the project should be rebid because they got a very good bid the first time and Union Concrete was an excellent contractor.

Ayes: All Noes: None Motion Carried
