Town Board Minutes
Supervisor Sheila M. Meegan called the meeting to order at 11:10 A.M.

Ayes: None Noes: None Motion Carried
The board members returned from Executive Session at 11:15 A.M.
Motion by Supervisor Meegan, seconded by Councilman Hart, to accept the bid from Modern Recycling Inc. for a one year contract for weekly collection of recyclable materials with four (4) one year renewal options.
On the question, Attorney Shawn Martin stated the bid was published in the Buffalo News and specs were emailed to Waste Management, Republic Services and Modern Recycling. Two addendums were submitted requesting alternate bids for every other week collection and requesting a prevailing wage schedule from NYS for employees engaged in this type of operation. Mr. Martin advised that Waste Management chose not to bid and Republic Services submitted a bid for every other week collection only. Modern Recycling submitted a bid for weekly collection and every other week collection.
Councilman Hanley stated he wanted to look at the option for every other week collection to see if there would be a savings to the town. He thought there was an opportunity to save money, but they have not been educated enough to see if it will work. The town has already sent paperwork out to the residents and it is too late to change it now. He likes the one year contract with four (4) one year options because it will allow time to regroup and possibly inform the residents that the town will be changing to every other week collection of recyclables.
