Dog Licenses

General Information

  • New York State law requires all dogs four months or older to be licensed and have updated rabies vaccinations
  • Town ordinance states that homeowners are allowed a maximum of two dogs per household
  • The Town Clerk's Office is responsible for issuing licences, processing license payments and updating dog status only
  • Residents may contact Animal Control Officers at 716-823-2988 for any other concerns regarding licensed or unlicensed dogs
  • Please notify the Town Clerks Office when, for whatever reason (ex. deceased, moved) your dog is no longer living in the town

Annual Fees

  • Unspayed/Unneutered: $18.00
  • Spayed/Neutered: $11.00
  • Senior Resident (aged 65+) Unspayed/Unneutered: $10.50
  • Senior Resident (aged 65+) Spayed/Neutered: $3.50
  • Replacement Tag Fee: $3.00

First Time Licensing The Owner Must:

  • Provide proof of rabies vaccination (not to expire within 30 days of licensing)
  • Include certificate of spay/neuter (if applicable)
  • If mailing, complete the New License form, include check or money order payable to West Seneca Town Clerk, provide proof of rabies vaccination and certificate of spay/neuter

License Renewals

Annual renewals will be sent to the owner's home from the Town Clerks Office. Renewals may be brought in or mailed to the Town Clerk's Office.
